Welcome to NeatTrip. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of our collaborative trip-planning app and services, where people build itineraries, drop places on a map, keep photo travel journals, and share trips publicly.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on NeatTrip. You may not post, upload, or share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable, and you may not abuse, harass, or threaten other people using the app.

  • Anyone can report objectionable content or an abusive user directly from the app.
  • Every report is reviewed, and offending content is removed, within 24 hours.
  • Users who post objectionable content or abuse others are ejected from NeatTrip.
  • You can block any user. Blocking immediately hides everything they share from your view and notifies us so we can review them.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using NeatTrip, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use our service.

Description of Service

NeatTrip is a free expense-splitting application that helps you:

  • Create groups to track shared expenses
  • Record and split expenses among group members
  • Calculate who owes money to whom
  • Track settlements between group members
  • Invite friends and family to join expense groups

Important: NeatTrip is a tracking tool only. We do not process payments, handle money transfers, or provide financial services. All actual payments between users must be handled independently.

User Accounts

Account Creation

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • You may only create one account per person

Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the app settings
  • We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms
  • Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our systems

User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Submit false, inaccurate, or misleading information
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Create accounts using automated means or false information
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others

  • No Payment Processing: NeatTrip does not process payments, transfer money, or handle financial transactions
  • Tracking Only: We only provide expense tracking and calculation tools
  • No Financial Liability: We are not responsible for any financial disputes, debts, or payment issues between users
  • User Responsibility: All actual payments and financial arrangements are solely between users
  • Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, you are responsible for verifying all calculations and amounts

Privacy and Data

Intellectual Property

The NeatTrip service, including its design, functionality, and content, is owned by NeatTrip and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NeatTrip shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high service availability, but we do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the application. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The place of jurisdiction is Berlin, Germany. For consumers within the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of their country of residence shall apply.
